What a tattoo costs
These are the real ranges we work with. The final number comes from the artist once they see your idea, the body area and the size.
A non-refundable deposit is required to confirm any date, with the amount set per project. No discounts or coupons.
What drives the price
- Size and area. A forearm is not the same job as ribs or a neck.
- Detail. Dense fine line takes longer than solid black over the same area.
- Cover-ups. Covering an old tattoo always adds work.
- Sessions. Large pieces are built in stages, with healing time in between.
That is why we don't publish a closed price per piece — we would rather give you a real number once we see the project than a pretty one that changes later.
Frequently asked
How much is a small tattoo?
Small pieces start at $100 at Subleink. The exact price depends on detail and body area.
Why is large-scale work charged hourly?
Blackout has a closed price because the session is predictable: a full arm in one sitting, a full leg in one. A bodysuit or a project across several body areas is not — it is built over months on your body, and charging from $250 per hour is more honest than a fixed number that falls short.
What makes a tattoo cost more?
Size, body area, level of detail, whether it covers an old tattoo, and how many sessions it needs.
What does the $30,000 VIP package include?
It is for large projects by clients travelling to Panama. It covers one week in a top Panama City hotel, meals, chauffeured transport and a guide. If you would rather drive, the chauffeur is swapped for a car or motorcycle rental and the guide stays.
